Troubleshooting Your Machine Before Carpet
Cleaning Repair
All sorts of problems can happen when carpet cleaning.
Oftentimes, it is not the machine that causes carpet damage; in
fact; it is usually something from the carpet that can damage
the machine. So before deciding on any carpet cleaning
repair, make sure to check out what the real problem is with
your machine before spending a whole wad of money on something
that you could have fixed yourself.
Determine the Problem
Before doing any cleaning, make sure to start each session
by checking all the components of your carpet cleaning
device. If possible, take it apart so that you can check
all the internal motors and airways in the vacuum to ensure
that nothing is stuck there that might have been collected in a
previous cleaning session. Carpet cleaning repair will
involve that you check specific parts in your vacuum such as
the drive belt (if any), its brushes, motor, and any other
attachments that are used a lot during cleaning sessions.
To make it easier for you to determine the problem, make a list
of the things that you should check and then run down that list
before each carpet cleaning session.
Know the Solution
Knowing what the problem is does not stop a carpet cleaning
machine from performing poorly. You have to apply the
right solutions so that that the carpet cleaning repair is
successful and you can get back to cleaning up your mess
normally. For example, if the belt in your vacuum cleaner is
the problem, check to see how damaged it is or if it’s just
stuck because of a large piece of dirt that may have gotten
caught into it somehow. Of course, if it is damaged, it
obviously needs to be replaced and you can buy extra parts from
your local appliance store.
Test & Re-test
If after a few checks you cannot determine what the problem
is, what you can do is adjust a few things in the machine and
then try it out. If the carpet cleaning repair is
successful, it should run smoothly. If not, it won’t and
you can make further adjustments on other things until you
figure out what the problem with your machine is if there is
any. This is basically like breaking down the problem
until you find its source. It’s a simple trial and error
process that will take time but at least you will be able to
fix the problem eventually.
Warranty
If you really have to send your vacuum in for repair because
you can’t do anything about it, remember to check if it has a
carpet cleaning repair warranty. You might be surprised
to find that you won’t have to pay for the services or parts
replaced (depending on what brand vacuum that you buy).
It’s always a good idea to try and save a few bucks on
maintaining your appliances; in some cases, replacement and
services is absolutely free so remember to read the terms and
conditions of your unit before sending it to the shop.
